出身于破碎家庭的家聪（陈家乐 饰），深爱与演艺路上怀才不遇的单亲妈妈佩怡（周家怡 饰）成立了一家可以提供“出租家人”服务的公司。 一次偶然的机会，深爱家聪发掘了沉迷于演戏的临时演员志光（曾志伟 饰），并诚邀他加入“出租家人”行列，志光爽快答应。 志光加入后又遇上喜欢跳舞的包租婆芳芳（恬妞 饰），阴差阳错下两人出演“临时夫妻“，并与家乐及佩怡变成“一家人”，谁知这个临时家庭却在服务过程中发现了埋于深处的秘密?? 究竟什么才算是家人？最可贵的关系又是什么？导演刘伟恒透过本故事让观众作深入的反思。
