米基洛克饰演一位重刑犯麦可，亚洲区他高达一百八的智商，亚洲区早就熟读了所有的法律条文，更知他该如何为自己开罪，他凭他个人魅力，教年轻女律师珊德拉（琳达希克鲁斯饰）帮他跟法官要求假释；当然他希望自己除此之外还有其他的机会可以离开监狱……珊德拉听从麦可的指示，把枪藏在身上，麦可假装挟持律师，逃狱而出……在警方紧紧追赶下，麦可来到科尼尔家里，展开重头戏──重刑犯和被挟持家庭的冲突，及被挟持人犯该如何为自己脱困，甚至在与警方配合和与重刑犯配合间争执、争吵……
