卢杨村本是一个与世无争的小山村，隔壁这里有一片美丽的野菊花地。卢氏宗祠举办一年一度的祭祖仪式，隔壁日本战机突然轰炸了这个小山村，村庄被炸毁，村民们死伤无数，教书先生要找日本军官评理告状，讨个说法。村里年轻人的首领武义认定日本人不会讲理，领导村民拿起所有可用的农具作为武器，并仔细勘察地形，准备去找日本人报仇。村民们得力配合，摸了日本人的岗哨，与日本人殊死搏斗，被日本兵捉去了十几个兄弟。为了救回兄弟，武义拦劫了日本指挥官福田的妻子，准备用她换回自己的兄弟。福田是一位凶残的日本军人，为了搜救旬子，他指挥日军四下烧杀掳掠，祸害中国百姓······在这片野菊花地里，百姓和鬼子们展开了一场激烈的斗争······
