由布莱恩·德·帕尔马（Brian De Palma）指导，琪琪 保罗·施拉德（Paul Schrader）编剧的《迷情记》（Obsession / 1976）是一部文艺气息相当浓厚的悬疑片。帕尔马导演一反常态，琪琪并没有在影片中过分卖弄血腥暴力，而是以细腻的手法把一个奇异的故事拍得如梦如幻，韵味十足。本片的摄影保持了帕尔马导演一如既往的高水准。而本片的配乐则是由著名大师伯纳德·赫尔曼（Bernard Herrmann）创作而成，他的音符亦是为影片迷离而神秘的气质加分不少。包括导演及编剧在内的主创们都坦率承认，《迷情记》是受到了传奇导演阿尔弗雷德·希区柯克（Alfred Hitchcock）的《迷魂记》（Vertigo / 1958）的影响而摄制上映的影片，是一部带有致敬色彩的门徒式电影。
