《西部世界》主创乔纳森·诺兰＆丽莎·乔伊夫妇将打造未来题材新剧《外围》(The Peripheral)，基于William Gibson所著同名小说，两人的制片公司Kilter Films和亚马逊联合制作，如果剧本可行，将直接预定整季。设定在未来的美国，科技开始潜移默化地改变社会，女主Flynne Fisher发现了与一个不同现实的隐藏联系，以及她自己的黑暗的未来。斯科特·B·史密斯(《绝地计划》《恐怖废墟》)编写剧本，他也担任执行制片，文森佐·纳塔利(《西部世界》《汉尼拔》《人兽杂交》)执导。
