极具音乐天赋的少年杰西，囚禁由母亲单独抚养。母亲自顾不暇无法分散精力照顾杰西，囚禁孤独的杰西成为问题少年，并惹上了大麻烦，母亲自动放弃杰西的抚养权。杰西和母亲大吵一架，母亲哭诉着委屈和怨愤，并向杰西吐露了关于他父亲的事情……杰西找到了近乎陌生人的父亲，并在参军大户的偏远小镇里开始了新的生活，渐渐地他发现这个叫“勇敢之镇”的地方似乎埋藏着不为人知的秘密？他的音乐天赋又在其中扮演什么角色呢？
