《聊斋变异》的男主角蒲松龄，钢壳是一名社会新闻记者。他在采访过程中经常遇到一些匪夷所思的奇闻，钢壳因为无法把这些奇闻发表在报纸上，他就自己开了一个个人网站，起名“聊斋”。没想到网站大受欢迎，网友们纷纷对他倾诉自己遇到的怪事，蒲松龄亲自采访这些网友，写下了许多离奇曲折的故事……

回复 :重案组探员阿琳（麦家琪饰）美貌出众，但却冷若冰霜，原因是亲姊阿佩惨死于变态杀手下的惨剧，仍缠绕在她深心处。有“新午夜屠夫”之称的变态杀手最近四出犯案，令少女人人自危；阿琳虽然认定“新午夜屠夫”跟亲姊阿佩的死有莫大关连，但由于调查手法有违纪律而被勒令停职，无法进一步调查。停职期间，阿琳结识了退出影坛的超级明星Tim，二人情投意合，感情一日千里。正当阿琳沉醉于二人世界之中，却不知已逐步堕进“新午夜屠夫”的陷阱当中……

But they may have met their match in New Friend, their latest victim, who starts to manipulate the foursome, setting one against the other.Bizarre combination of late sixties avant garde and sleaze. Director Freddie Francis had made horrors for both Hammer and Amicus but this is nothing like any of them. Shot on location with an atmosphere mixing playground horror and conservatory theatre that is downright weird and unsettling. The great lost girl of sixties British horror, Vanessa Howard, shines as she does in those other rarely seen gems Corruption [1967] and What Became of Jack and Jill [1972]. If Harold Pinter had made The Texas Chain Saw Massacre [1974] for the BBC this could have resulted. Excellent and unique.
