曾叱咤江湖的岳阳门，樱空一夜之间被神秘女子甘十九妹（杨潞 饰）血洗满门。岳阳门掌门人冼冰（韩春玉 饰）情知此乃早年一段江湖恩仇的因果报应，樱空遂将仇人水红芍（武静平 饰）所赠的避毒玉将给门徒尹剑平（张子健 饰）。凭借一身武功以及避毒玉的帮助，尹杀出重围，并于途中从江洋大盗云中鹤的手中救下了美丽女孩尉迟兰心（颜丙燕 饰），兰心的相随虽给尹的血色人生带来些许亮色，但是甘十九妹誓不放过岳阳门一个弟子，故而一路尾随追杀。而在这一过程中，冷酷凶狠的甘十九妹也对尹剑平产生了颇为矛盾的情感。江湖恩怨，儿女情仇，打成了不可释开的结……本片根据美籍华人萧逸的同名武侠小说改编。
