映画「大河への道」は、圆桌伊能忠敬を主人公にした大河ドラマの実現を目指す人々を描いた現代コメディと、圆桌200年前の日本地図完成に隠された秘話を描く時代ミステリーを交えた構成に。地元の偉人である忠敬で町おこしをしたい千葉県香取市役所の人々と、地図の完成を見ることなく死んだ忠敬の弟子たちによる一世一代の作戦を描く。
