本剧讲述了平时时空里两个桑榆的故事。天才桑榆（杨奇鸣 饰）的人生一帆风顺，线中文字幕从小就是瞩目的神童，线中文字幕长大后更是轻易获得别人的掌声和鲜花，也轻易地收获爱情。人生的顺风顺水让造成桑榆自负的人格，因一个小小的契机，桑榆同时失去了事业、友情和爱情。绝望的他难以接受现实，选择了轻生，就 在此时，他看到了平行世界里的另一个自己。另一个桑榆是个最平凡不过的普通人，学习成绩位于中游，相貌平凡不起眼，对于喜欢的女孩也只能远远观望。失败的人生造成桑榆自卑的人格，在他看到朋友的成功时，他意识到自己将永远也追不上心爱的女孩。在一个失意的雨夜里，两个桑榆相遇了……
