苍月潮（畠中祐 配音）是一位身体瘦弱的平凡国中生，花右一次偶然中，花右潮在地下室里遇见了一只被封印长达五百年之久的妖怪，并于无意之中拔出了封印它的“兽茅”，使得妖怪重返人间。潮身上所爆发出来的惊人力量令妖怪震惊，它当即表示臣服于潮，于是，潮替妖怪取名“虎”（小山力也 配音）。成为了兽茅的继承人，潮的肩上负担起了斩妖除魔维护和平的使命，各路妖怪亦循迹而来，向他发出了挑战。在不断的合作和战斗之中，潮和虎之间结下了深厚的友谊，而两人亦被卷入了一个波及到整个世界的阴谋之中，而躲在兽茅背后的各路人马也一一出现在潮的身边。
